Competitive Advantage

The Brave and The Wild is about honest conversations with everyday people. Some have faced heavy stuff. Some have done amazing things. Others are just figuring it out as they go. It’s a space for stories that don’t always get told… stories of resilience, growth, and the unpredictable nature of being human.
It’s a mix raw storytelling with expert insight to help make mental health feel more normal, and easier to talk about. But it’s not all struggle. This podcast is also about strength, perspective, and sometimes just a good yarn – stories that can inform, inspire, or entertain.
While a podcast can’t replace therapy, it might offer some people the tools to take care of themselves better – or be a stepping stone to professional help.
The Brave and The Wild is also building a growing platform of resources, tools, and community. Mental health support shouldn’t just show up in a crisis. It should be part of everyday life.
This isn’t just about surviving. It’s about living well – and embracing the wild ride along the way.
Hey, I’m Tim Kavermann – founder and host of The Brave and The Wild. I’m a designer, photographer, and mental health advocate based in Auckland, New Zealand.
For over a decade, I’ve worked with businesses across the country to help them tell stories that connect people through branding, websites, and content. But behind all the work has been my own story too… shaped by the ups and downs of mental health, and a deep belief in the power of honest conversations.
I’ve been lucky to have support around me when I needed it most. Not everyone has that. Creating The Brave and The Wild is my way of giving something back and building a space where stories, tools, and real talk can reach the people who need it, even if they don’t know what to ask for yet.
This platform isn’t about fixing people. It’s about making space for the stuff we don’t always say out loud and using storytelling to support, connect, and sometimes even entertain.
The Brave And The Wild is all about having real conversations, and in setting it up, I knew that a brand and conversations of this nature also came with responsibilities. Because of this, I’ve aligned my work with Mind Garage, my Official Clinical Partner.
Mind Garage is a team of trusted and experienced psychologists and mental health professionals based here in New Zealand. They’re here to support The Brave And The Wild in an advisory role, making sure the resources, tools, and content I share are not only meaningful, but also credible, safe, and where needed, clinically sound.
For me, this partnership is more than a stamp of approval, it’s the perfect collaboration! Through my input and the guests I bring on the podcast, we’re able to offer lived experience, storytelling, and community. Mind Garage brings the expertise, the professional oversight, and the clinical care.
I’m incredibly grateful to the individuals, brands, and organisations who support me and The Brave and The Wild. You help me keep these real conversations going, grow the platform, and reach more people with tools, stories, and connection. This work wouldn’t be possible without you, and I’m truly thankful to have you in my corner.
